How to start learning the game of tennis.

So you want to learn tennis. Or maybe you are a lapsed tennis player looking to get back into the game after a few years or even decade away from the game. If so, you found the right place.

Is Tennis Right For You?

Anyone can learn tennis with the right teaching system.  Over 33 years of teaching tennis I’ve seen all types of tennis players. With this in mind I find these three levels of beginners are most prominent they include the following:

a. Limited Hand Eye Coordination

b. Average Hand Eye Coordination

c. Phenoms

Now before you get to hyped up about which level you fall into note I’ve taught all 3 level and everyone can become a good tennis player.  All you have to do is have fun and practice and I will take care of the rest.

Limited Hand Eye Coordination

We are not all blessed with the gift of athleticism but that doesn’t mean you can learn tennis. You just need the right system and the desire to get better.

Average Hand Eye Coordination

This is my largest group of students so if you fall in this category you will have a lot of company.  Naturally, the more hand eye skill you have the faster your learning curve will be. But athletic skills aren’t the only thing that is required to learn tennis. You will need passion and perseverance as well at what ever level you start at.

Phenoms

Don’t you just hate them? It’s a small group but they were simply born with the tools to play tennis.  I show them something once and BOOM they grasp it instantly. The downside to this group is sometimes they can’t wait to get better and don’t practice enough and can become discouraged with they plateau.

All levels have practice as the common thread. You will need to take lessons and practice to get better.
